INDYCAR: Team Redline Xtreme plugs in to KV Racing for 2011 Indy 500

Another in a long line of "extreme" energy drink manufacturers got a little closer today to putting its marketing message in front of racing fans.

Team Redline Xtreme, announced three months ago by VPX Sports to push the Redline Xtreme energy drink brand, has inked a deal with KV Racing to field a one-car effort in the 2011 Indianapolis 500. The principals behind the team - VPX/Redline's Vice President of Business Development TJ Humphreys and Dallas businessman James "Sulli" Sullivan - formed the SH Racing partnership in July to get a head start on building the program and find suitable technical partners.

The team is in the process of unveiling its show car at the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Show at the Atlanta Convention Center. A driver for the effort has yet to be named.

According to the team's press release, SH Racing may be interested in extending its Indy 500 program beyond the month of May - obviously depending on their returns from the 500.
