Bob Jenkins posts apology at TrackForum
Anyone who knows Bob Jenkins knows about his passion for IndyCar racing and his sincerity. Which is why it doesn't surprise me at all that he went online and posted a personal and, in most people's opinions, unnecessary apology for his on-air performance during Sunday's Sao Paulo Indy 300 broadcast on Versus. Too bad the magnitude and meaning of this action will probably be lost on many of the posters there.

Huh?
I am confused by this. As a guy who categorically skips internet racing formus (where I am convinced that good ideas and opinions go to die beneath a pile of snark and screaming), what’s the story? Were people yelling for Bob’s head after a couple of misnomers? Because if that’s the case, then maybe we should be owed apologies after nearly every ABC race and every time Rusty Wallace is allowed within 15 feet of an IndyCar announcing booth.
Seriously, I didn’t notice much in the way of anything wrong with Bob’s performance on Sunday. Maybe a little rusty, and certainly struggling with the home Brazilian video feed, but the Versus guys still did a better job than 80% of all other racing booth teams (the main exception being Varsha, Hobbs and Matchett, the world gold standard). If people are expecting every race to be flawless, they should take a hard look in the mirror and ask themselves if every day they spend at work goes perfectly to plan.
