Friday Pre-Race: Edmonton

Me posting a picture of Toronto Maple Leafs' Tie Domi somehow triggered a mountain of contact and fighting....okay the fighting was lame twittering, but still.  Perhaps The Great One will trigger an event nothing short of greatness, like maybe a non-Red Car winning?  Perhaps somebody NOT named Will Power taking the checkered flag?  Maybe everyone's favorite Canadian will win?

Now the track at Edmonton is located on an airport runway.  If you want to see a proper airport race (or what EVERY IndyCar race should be like) just look HERE.  Yea, "Best Race Evar" indeed.  Because of a certain 400 mile race I wasn't able to see all of the race last year.  Since Will Power won that one, I'm guessing I didn't miss much....except Tony founding The Torch Club.  So who sets the world on fire this year and takes the race?  No, Simona....that's not what I meant.  My fault.  Who has the best shot at winning?  That better?

We need SOMETHING to unsettle him.  ANYTHING to stop all this.  Dario might have the answer....?

THE BEST OF THE REST (BEST NON-RED CAR):  Ryan "How many first names do I have?" Hunter-Reay

He punts Red Cars, he causes them to hit the pit limiter, he beats them, he's the highest placed non Red Car in the points.  Oh, and brings us title sponsors.  He could be our MVP.  Just like Danica last year, but better.  Funny what getting a full time deal will do for you.  Hell, Rahal almost got a full time deal and got a Top-5.  The pen is truly mightier than the sword....or chrome horn.

Over/Under on the bill to Dallara after the race is $1.25 million.  Any takers for the under?

I never quite understood why there has to be IndyCar racing during the Brickyard 400.  This should be an off week just so some IndyCar drivers can show how to tackle the four corners even with a tin top.  How cool would that be?  Considering just how much space I had last year (I had the WHOLE ROW to myself) the speedway could use all the help it can get.  Boy that COT has killed the racing there.  Let's just hope OUR COT doesn't do the same....
