Last year, Brazil had excitement and just plain craziness with cars being parked on driver's heads, hail storms, floods, plagues of locusts and frogs, etc. What exactly does this place have in mind for an encore? God only knows.
Brazil had the most exciting road-course race of the season last year and possibly the most exciting race period. It was a great start to the season, but it sort of went slightly downhill after that. This year Brazil is Race #4 and plenty of excitement and controversy have already happened.
I'm not going to predict what exactly will happen in the insane magical world of Brazil (nobody can, nobody ever will), but I can tell you which drivers will be the ones to watch Sunday.
THE FAVORITE (BEST PENSKE/GANASSI DRIVER): WILL POWER
He's still the man to beat on road and street courses. It was a great comeback story last year with him winning the race. He'll be the favorite to win again this year, providing Helio stays far away from him. FAR AWAY.
THE BEST OF THE REST (BEST NON-PENSKE/GANASSI DRIVER): TONY KANAAN
THE MILKA DUNO BACKMARKER AWARD: EJ VISO
It's now coming to a point where the question is not if but rather which lap he buries it into a tire barrier. In Barber he hit Simona and at Long Beach he hit Danica. He better not hit Ana or it could cause an international incident. The good news for him this week is that Helio has stolen his thunder....for now.
