INDYCAR: Friday Pre-Race Preview (Baltimore)

Stay connected for news and updates

Future headline: "Dallara stock skyrockets 275% after the Baltimore Grand Prix."

Hmm, a new open wheel racing street course that has train-tracks on it.  Where have I seen that before?

After one practice session today not one car landed into the harbor, so I guess we're safe for now.

Anyways, after the dullness of Sears Point we're due for another insane street race.  Considering how narrow the new track is in places we could be in for one.  Already Dixon, Briscoe and (wait for it...) Viso have made contact with the wall during the first practice session.  One practice session in and we're already ahead of Sears Point in the "well that's interesting" department.

So expect a lot of the unexpected Sunday.  But what you can expect is for these drivers (and one quite literally) to make an impact on race day...

THE FAVORITE (BEST PENSKE/GANASSI DRIVER):  WILL POWER

As long as he keeps it off the wall (and away from the "wankers") he should be able to make a serious dent in Dario's point lead.  We need him to make up ground, because Vegas might be a snoozer since at this time there are no official takers (yet?) of the 5 million dollar challenge.

THE BEST OF THE REST (BEST NON-PENSKE/GANASSI DRIVER):  MIKE CONWAY

It's been awhile, hasn't it?  He looked fast during practice and he actually has a real sponsor for the race....and a street named after him?

THE MILKA DUNO BACKMARKER AWARD:  EJ VISO

My prediction?
