"#indycar is going to announce a third (engine) manufacturer for 2012 tomorrow at 5 p.m. Eastern. The news will come from the LA Auto Show.

An announcement on the future of the 2011 Indy Edmonton could come as early as tomorrow, Edmonton radio reports. Edmonton city council members reportedly are at odds with promoters Octane Racing on a shortfall of $2.7 million to stage the race next year. Barring last minute heroics, the race may be cancelled outright.

IZOD IndyCar Series CEO Randy Bernard will join officials from the Firestone Indy Lights Series and USAC, as well as USAC drivers Bryan Clauson and Levi Jones, for a partnership announcement at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It is expected that the partnership to be announced will involve a Road to Indy "graduate program" that will see USAC drivers receive Indy Lights opportunities in future seasons.

I want to thank Randy Bernard for taking the time to meet with me in Indianapolis today. Once again, I regret what occurred following the IZOD IndyCar Series race in Edmonton and I apologize for my behavior as I let my emotions get the better of me. IZOD IndyCar Series officials have fined driver Helio Castroneves $60,000 and placed him on probation for the remainder of the season for his actions during the July 25 race at Edmonton City Centre Airport.
