Sorry for the late posting of Power Rankings. I've been a bit busy.
I GUESS I can take time off of my schedule of acting as a photographer, a bad luck charm, and being generally lazy to post Power Rankings once again.
Here goes myself mailing it in tonight....BTW: Winner of the 500 will get an automatic jump to P1 in the next rankings list. It doesn't matter whether or not they're part-timers, they go to the top.
(The Grid posted after the jump)
THE GRID
1. Will Power
Previous Ranking: #2 (+1)
His dragon to slay is winning on an oval. Winning this one would be unbeatable and you could pencil him in for the 2011 series title.
2. Dario Franchitti
Previous Ranking: #1 (-1)
I think many people were convinced he'll win the title again after he posted a 4th place finish despite hitting a tire barrier in Brazil. Nothing stops this man.
3. Oriol Servia
Previous Ranking: #3 (no change)
So explain to me again WHY was he unemployed….
4. Ryan Briscoe
Previous Ranking: #11 (+7)
Has looked quite impressive this year when nobody is wrecking into him.
5. Alex Tagliani
Previous Ranking: #4 (-1)
He has looked very stout during the Month of May. Not surprised with his precision at driving considering his precision with his goatee.
6. Tony Kanaan
Previous Ranking: #5 (-1)
Just by judging Mike Conway's lap times this month you'd think he'd be a lot less stressed entering Time Trials this year. He doesn't have to drive that sled again.
7. Simona De Silvestro
Previous Ranking: #6 (-1)
8. Vitor Meira
Previous Ranking: #7 (-1)
I'm enjoying AJ Foyt's retro colors this year. They've made the Crapwagon....less ugly.
9. Scott Dixon
Previous Ranking: #8 (-1)
Okay, with his planking (among other things he's done/said this year) Scott Dixon is no longer the android everybody (including myself) thought he was.
10. Mike Conway
Previous Ranking: #9 (-1)
Yep, looks like he inherited Tony Kanaan's car from last year. Uh-oh.
11. James Hinchcliffe
Previous Ranking: #13 (+2)
The Mayor of Hinchtown becomes the Mayor of Terrible Haute. After going to school for four years in that town I stand by my words.
12. Justin Wilson
Previous Ranking: #14 (+2)
No more road courses....so no more advancement until the next stint.
13. JR Hildebrand
Previous Ranking: #15 (+2)
Ovals. It's Panther Racing's time to shine.
14. Graham Rahal
Previous Ranking: unranked
Okay, let's see how this team's relationship with Ganassi really works out....
15. Takuma Sato
Previous Ranking: unranked
He was so close to winning in Brazil. Not the first time this year Jimmy Vasser has screwed a driver out of a good ride.
DNQ (Bumped from the field)
Danica Patrick
Previous Ranking: #10
By judging the lap times this month....it might NOT have been her fault. Still shouldn't have said it.
Marco Andretti
Previous Ranking: unranked
An Andretti winning the Centennial would stop the world on its axis.
Rafa Matos
Previous Ranking: #12
I can only imagine the imprints left behind by the treaded tires....
EJ Viso
Previous Ranking: unranked
He's made it this far without walling it....oops, probably jinxed him.
Helio Castroneves
Previous Ranking: unranked
Pole Position. 228 average. Bank it.
